1. What are the best lures for high speed wahoo trolling?

2. What trolling speed should I run for wahoo?

Most high speed wahoo spreads run 12 to 15 knots. If you are pulling cedar plugs or spoons, 8 to 10 knots keeps them tracking true.

3. Do I need wire leaders for wahoo?

Yes. Wahoo will cut mono fast. Use a short wahoo shock leader ahead of the lure.

4. Sea witch or bullet head for wahoo?

How to Choose Wahoo Lures

Speed is everything. Wahoo are built for fast eats. A high speed spread at 12 to 15 knots with weighted heads gets reaction bites. Start with the Jagahoo kit to cover your main lanes.

Protect your leader. Wahoo will cut mono. Always run a short shock leader or wire section ahead of the lure. Keep it short to reduce drag and keep the head working right.

Mix lure styles. Run a skirted head, a rigged sea witch, and a spoon or plug in the same spread. Cedar plugs like the Ahi cedar plug are easy producers at 6 to 9 knots when fish are shy of the prop wash.

Perfect measurements and weight

Used this differently than its intended design. I made raft oars counter balances from them. Previously used steel 4lb mounted on the exterior near the grips. These I was able to install into the shaft and at 5lbs was able to get the weight away from the grips. Both oars took about 30 minutes. Another bonus is the seller got the weights to me in 4 days vice 12 Amazon predicted.

Purchased these and first trip out boated several very nice Hybrids. The fish were in 5-7lb range. The bait falls fast and the hooks are very sharp for solid hook ups.
