The Billfish Bait Chugger gives you a complete bait-and-switch rigging system in one package. You get two rubber chugger heads (cupped and flat), 12 feet of 150lb Hi-Catch monofilament leader, an 8/0 Mustad 7766 hook, a pin rig with bait spring, and everything pre-rigged and ready to fish. Swap between the cupped head for more smoke and splash or the flat head for a subtler presentation. Pin a ballyhoo or other natural bait behind the chugger and you have a billfish presentation that combines artificial flash with natural scent. Perfect measurements and weight

Used this differently than its intended design. I made raft oars counter balances from them. Previously used steel 4lb mounted on the exterior near the grips. These I was able to install into the shaft and at 5lbs was able to get the weight away from the grips. Both oars took about 30 minutes. Another bonus is the seller got the weights to me in 4 days vice 12 Amazon predicted.

Purchased these and first trip out boated several very nice Hybrids. The fish were in 5-7lb range. The bait falls fast and the hooks are very sharp for solid hook ups. Glad I had an extra one because I gave it to my buddy in the boat and he immediately hooked up. These baits worked so well, I ordered several more. How to Fish the Billfish Bait Chugger

1. Select the cupped head for rough conditions or to attract fish from distance, flat head for calm days

2. Thread the leader through the chugger head and slide the head down to the hook

3. Pin a fresh ballyhoo onto the hook using the bait spring and pin rig

4. Deploy from a flat line or rigger position at 6-9 knots

5. Let out 40-80 feet of line depending on spread position

6. When a billfish appears behind the bait, feed line and let the fish eat before setting the hook
