Also see the Sea Bird Teaser for running birds ahead of other lures.

Bird Plus Spoon in One Ready-Made Rig

Bird rigs produce because they do two things at once. The floating bird skips and splashes on the surface, drawing predators from a distance. Behind the bird, the trailing Clarkspoon wobbles and flashes, triggering the strike.

These rigs come fully assembled. Clip one to your line and start trolling. The 30 lb mono leader handles spanish mackerel, bluefish, and smaller kings. Pair them with Planer Kits to fish multiple depths.

Foam-Filled Floating Bird

The 5-inch bird is foam-filled to stay on the surface while the spoon trails below. 3D doll eyes and vibrant colors add visual attraction. Thru-wire construction means it survives seasons of use.

Pre-Rigged with Clarkspoon

Each bird rig comes rigged with a size 0 or 00 chrome or gold Clarkspoon on 30 lb clear mono. No assembly required. Multiple color and spoon combinations available.

Proven Trolling Producer

The combination of surface splash and sub-surface flash is irresistible to spanish mackerel and bluefish. Troll at 4-6 knots as part of a multi-line spread.

How to Fish Clarkspoon Bird Rigs

  1. Connect bird rig to main line with a ball bearing snap swivel
  2. Deploy 50-100 feet behind the boat
  3. Set trolling speed to 4-6 knots until bird splashes consistently
  4. Stagger multiple rigs at different distances
  5. Let the rod load before picking it up on a strike

Yes. Run a bird rig behind an inline planer for depth variety. See our Planer Kits for complete setups.
