Mylar Sheets: Add Killer Flash to Every Lure You Build
These pre-scored mylar sheets are the fastest way to add flash to sea witches, trolling skirts, and any custom lure you tie. They come in two sizes: 1.5"x6" with 1/16" scoring for narrow strips and 3"x6" with 3/32" scoring for wider applications. The scoring lines let you tear clean, uniform strips without scissors or a cutting board. The color range covers everything from natural silver and gold to chartreuse, pink, and glow options that produce in deep water.

Build Lures That Out-Flash Store-Bought Options
Store-bought lures have generic flash, if they have any at all. Custom-tied sea witches and skirts with mylar strips catch more fish because you control the color mix, strip count, and flash density. These sheets are the building block.
Tear strips, tuck them into your sea witch head or skirt collar, and you have a lure that throws light like nothing off the shelf. We build our own trolling skirts with these and out-fish factory lures consistently.

Pre-Scored for Clean Strips
Every sheet is laser-scored at uniform intervals, so you tear perfectly even strips every time. The 1.5" sheets score at 1/16" for fine flash strands. The 3" sheets score at 3/32" for thicker strips that hold up to toothy fish. No scissors needed.
Full Color Range with Glow
Silver, gold, chartreuse, pink, blue, and glow options cover every water condition and target species. Glow mylar strips inside a sea witch produce in 300+ feet of water where light does not reach. Mix 2-3 colors per lure for a natural baitfish shimmer.
Two Sizes for Every Application
The 1.5"x6" sheets produce fine, wispy strips ideal for small sea witches and light trolling skirts. The 3"x6" sheets make wider, more durable strips for large offshore lures and dredge baits. One sheet produces enough strips for 3-5 lures depending on density.

How do I use mylar sheets in a sea witch? +
Tear strips from the scored sheet, bundle 15-20 strips together, and insert them through the sea witch head so they trail behind the skirt. The flash mimics baitfish scales. Check our sea witch heads for compatible sizes.
What size mylar sheet should I buy? +
Use the 1.5"x6" sheets for small sea witches and light skirts. Use the 3"x6" sheets for large offshore lures and dredge baits. The wider strips are more durable. See our UV sea witch hair for the full build kit.
What colors work best for offshore trolling? +
Silver and blue for clear water, chartreuse and pink for overcast days, glow for deep drops below 200 feet. Mix 2-3 colors per lure for the most natural flash. Our trolling lures guide covers color selection.
Can I use mylar strips in dredge baits? +
Add 4-6 strips per dredge bait to increase flash and visibility. Glow strips are especially effective on deep dredge rigs. Read our dredge rigging guide for bait preparation tips.
Do the glow mylar sheets actually work? +
Yes. Charge them with a UV light before deploying and they glow for 20-30 minutes underwater. In deep water (200+ feet), glow is one of the only attractants that works. Check our lure guide for glow tactics.
How many strips can I get from one sheet? +
The 1.5"x6" sheet at 1/16" scoring produces about 24 strips. The 3"x6" sheet at 3/32" scoring produces about 32 strips. One sheet builds 3-5 lures. Browse our UV sea witch hair to complete your build kit.
What else do I need to build a sea witch? +
You need sea witch heads, UV sea witch hair, and these mylar sheets. Rigging wire and hooks complete the build. Our ballyhoo rigging guide shows how to rig the finished lure.
