Small Boat Dredge, Big Boat Results

Not every boat can pull a full-size dredge. Center consoles and smaller boats need something manageable. The Epic Compact Squid Dredge puts 21 UV-enhanced squid behind your boat on a 28-inch bar that any offshore-capable boat can handle.

Start with this as your entry into dredge fishing. As you learn what works, the expandable design lets you add more drops and squid. At $249.99, it is the most accessible way to get a quality dredge behind your boat.

Center Console Friendly

The 28-inch Gen II Heavy Bar pulls easily behind center console boats. No need for a heavy sportfisher or electric retrieval. Deploy and retrieve by hand or with a standard rod holder.

Expandable Design

Start with 21 squid and add more drops as you learn what works in your area. The bar and rigging accommodate additional squid and teasers without replacement.

21 UV-Enhanced Squid

9-inch UV-enhanced squid in four color options. UV visibility extends the effective range of the dredge in deep blue water where standard colors disappear.

How to Deploy a Dredge or Teaser

1. Attach the dredge or teaser to your pulling line via the main connection

2. Add a dredge weight if running sub-surface

3. Deploy at trolling speed, letting out line gradually

4. Adjust line length until the dredge tracks at the desired depth

5. Monitor for fish activity around the dredge on your sounder

6. Retrieve, rinse with fresh water, and store in a bag after fishing

How do I deploy this? +
Attach to your pulling line or outrigger and deploy at trolling speed. Let out enough line to reach the desired depth behind the boat. See our dredge rigging guide.
What fish will this attract? +
Tuna (yellowfin, bluefin, blackfin), dolphin (mahi), wahoo, and billfish all respond to dredges and teasers. See our tuna guide and mahi guide.
What trolling speed? +
5 to 8 knots for most offshore trolling. Adjust speed until teasers are tracking correctly. See our trolling speed chart.
Do I need a dredge weight? +
For sub-surface dredges, yes. A weight keeps the dredge at the target depth. Our Epic Dredge Weights pair well with any dredge setup.

Yes. Compact dredges on 28-inch bars are specifically designed for center consoles. See our Fish Razr Pulling Kit for the complete deployment system.
