Two Baits, Two Depths, One Rig

Mojo trolling for stripers is one of the most effective techniques on the Chesapeake Bay and along the mid-Atlantic coast. The Blue Water Candy Tandem Striper Rig takes it a step further by running two parachute jigs at different weights on a single spread line. The heavier jig runs deeper while the lighter one rides higher, covering more of the water column on every pass.

The 14-foot and 4-foot leader lengths are dialed in to prevent tangles while keeping both baits in the strike zone. Built on 100lb mono with 12/0 Mustad hooks and a quality 3-way swivel. Available in chartreuse and white, the two colors that produce year after year.

Dual Depth Coverage

Two different jig weights on a single rig cover two depth zones simultaneously. The heavier parachute runs deep while the lighter one rides higher. Find the depth fish are feeding at faster than single-jig setups.

9-Inch Shad Bodies

Large 9-inch soft plastic shad bodies match the profile of menhaden and other baitfish that trophy stripers feed on. The swimming tail action at trolling speed is irresistible to big rockfish.

Heavy Duty Construction

100lb monofilament leaders, 1/0 3-way swivel, and 12/0 Mustad hooks handle trophy-class stripers. This rig is built for fish that pull hard and fight dirty around structure.

How to Fish BWC Tandem Striper Rigs

  1. Select the weight combo for your depth and current
  2. Attach to your mainline via the top swivel
  3. Deploy at trolling speed of 2-3 knots
  4. Let out enough line to reach the target depth
  5. Troll along structure, ledges, or channel edges where stripers hold

What size tandem rig should I use? +
6oz/3oz for shallow water and light current. 8oz/4oz for moderate depth and flow. 12oz/8oz for deep water and strong current. Match the weight combo to your fishing conditions. See our striped bass fishing guide.
Chartreuse or white? +
Both produce fish. White is a go-to in clear water. Chartreuse stands out in stained or murky conditions. Serious striper trollers carry both colors. See our trolling speed chart.
How fast should I troll tandem striper rigs? +
2-3 knots is the standard trolling speed for mojo rigs targeting stripers. Adjust speed to keep the shad tails swimming properly. See our trolling guide.
Can I replace the shad bodies? +
Yes. The 9-inch shad bodies slide on and off the hook. Replace them when they get torn up. See our BWC Rock Fish Candy Shad for replacements.
Do you carry other BWC striper tackle? +
Yes. We carry BWC mojo lures, bottom rigs, drum rigs, and more. See our full rigs collection.
What rod and reel setup works for mojo trolling? +
A medium-heavy conventional rod with a line counter reel spooled with 30-50lb braid or mono. Line counters help you replicate successful depths. See our bottom fishing guide.
